Vira DG is a multidisciplinary artist and developer born in Kharkiv, Ukraine, whose work bridges the realms of art and technology. A pioneer in augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), WebXR, and artificial intelligence (AI), she seamlessly integrates these technologies into her artistic vision, creating immersive digital experiences that redefine traditional artistic boundaries.

Her journey into the world of art began at an incredibly young age, when she held her first solo exhibition at just six years old. Vira’s passion for creativity and innovation led her to pursue formal training at the renowned Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Arts, where she graduated with honors from the Department of Fine Arts. Since then, she has cultivated a unique artistic style, blending various techniques such as mural and ceiling painting, frescoes, stained glass, gilding, airbrushing, and digital art, leading her artistic journey into the realm of new technologies since 2019.

As an artist, my work has evolved into a fusion of tradition and technology, where the timeless beauty of Calligraffiti—the combination of calligraphy and graffiti—meets the boundless potential of augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR). My passion remains rooted in the aesthetic power of calligraphy, but now, through the use of emerging technologies, I am able to transcend the limits of physical spaces, creating immersive, interactive experiences that invite viewers to engage with art in new and meaningful ways. The essence of Calligraffiti in my work lies in the visual rhythm of symbols, not in their literal meaning. I draw inspiration from different cultures, blending their unique calligraphic traditions into bold, abstract forms. These shapes and symbols are not meant to be read like words on a page, but felt—understood through the heart, emotions, and senses. With each stroke, I aim to evoke universal stories that transcend language, creating a visual experience that resonates on a deeply emotional level. Today, my artistic journey has expanded into the digital realm, where I create AR sculptures that bring Calligraffiti into the virtual world. These sculptures blend ancient forms with cutting-edge technology, allowing viewers to experience art in ways that were previously unimaginable. My dream is to establish AR sculpture parks in cities around the world—spaces where art, innovation, and technology intersect, transforming public spaces into living canvases of digital expression. Art, for me, is not just a personal journey—it is part of a larger, global movement to reshape how we experience creativity in the 21st century.
